BIOGRAPHY
Pauline Köhlen (b. 1999) is a visual artist working with photography currently based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, whose work fluctuates between documentary and fiction.
In an intuitive manner, she aims to explore the understanding of the human experience, contemplating the interplay between the self and the spaces in which it emerges and evolves.
She is fascinated by those intangible processes hidden from the naked eye, yearning to capture and describe them through her artistic expression.
By incorporating her own body into her artistic practice, she uncovers the immense value of transparency and vulnerability. Through a performative approach, she utilizes her physicality and the medium of photography to explore the staples of space, time, and body.
